My parents indulged me in lots of art supplies when I was a kid; I took every art class I could manage through high school and college. Thirty years later, I conclude that education and gear are no substitute for talent...but I still like to draw.
After years of treating the course catalogs of four universities like menus rather than a means to an end, I ended up with a bachelor's in English. My writing has certainly improved.
What am I into? In no particular order: the Atomic Age, home improvement, URBEX, Russia, Eastern Europe, the golden age of Hollywood, aviation--particularly wood-and-canvas planes, WIG aircraft and airships--sleight-of-hand, Star Trek, Kirby vacuums, Dieselpunk, Atompunk, combustion engines (particularly steam piston engines), prepping and survival, Romantically Apocalyptic, Fallout, and Mad Max, swing music/dancing, exotic pets, gardening, World War II, Thomas Kirkbride's plan and architecture, cooking and baking, yo-yo tricks, vaudeville, rogue taxidermy, Wunderkammern, vintage appliances, the appreciation of decay and ruin, historic medical quackery, firearms collecting (especially Russian weapons) and marksmanship, cybernetics, World's Fairs, woodworking, the 1940s, coffee, and anybody with an accent.
Are you still reading? Bravo! You are tenacious! And yes, I added all those italics manually in HTML. You're welcome.
